Alpena-Montmorency Conservation District

The Alpena-Montmorency Conservation District (AMCD) is a county-level unit of government for Alpena and Montmorency County citizens to access local, state, and federally administered conservation programs and services. Michigan's Conservation Districts are county-level units of government that provide natural resource management services to help citizens conserve their lands and our environment for a cleaner, healthier, economically stronger Michigan. There are 75 conservation districts statewide with diverse, ever-changing programs adapted to each county's conservation needs assessment. AMCD programs and services include:

  • Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP)

  • Wildlife Risk Mitigation Program (WRM)

  • Forestry Assistance Program (FAP)

  • Hunting Access Program (HAP)

  • Soil Tests

  • Rentals: grain drill and tree planter

  • Annual Spring and Annual Fall Conifer Sales


MISSION:

The Alpena-Montmorency Conservation District serves, educates and advises the people of both counties and advocates for the restoration, conservation and preservation of natural resources.
